Released for the Prima Vista International Literature Festival 2010, this book of original blues lyrics collects 25 songs written by Bullfrog Brown's main songwriter and guitarist Andres Roots between 1995 and 2010. 23 of these have appeared on Bullfrog Brown CDs since 2005, the remaining two were released as a solo single featuring Eric "Red Mouth" Gebhardt (USA) and Johan "Bottleneck John" Eliasson (SWE) in May 2010. Compiled with and foreword written by British harpist Steve Lury, illustrations and design by Siret Roots, who recently won "Best Original Cover Art" award for Bullfrog Brown's "Moon and Central" album from Canada's Blues Underground Network. Published by Roots Art OÜ in Tartu, Estonia in collaboration with the Pärnu Blues Society (EST), the Viru Folk Festival (EST), the Kaavi Blues Festival (FIN) and the Blues-Finland.com webzine (FIN).
'"Andres Roots is, in my opinion, one of the most original and creative voices on the current blues scene. The songs he creates would be fine in any genre, but are unique for an artist working in the blues field - in fact in all my years of listening to blues music I cannot recall a songwriter who can match Andres’ breadth of imagination. What I think separates him from many of his contemporaries is that he lives “in the moment”. His slide guitar playing may be rooted in the Delta Blues tradition circa 1920, but his imagination lives in the present day. He has absorbed his influences and writes songs that embody the essence of the blues rather than merely wrapping themselves in its outer skin. He knows there is a world of difference between living and working in Tartu than in Tennessee. /---/ It is Blues for the 21st century, with no mention of Mojos or Cadillacs, which is just as well as the last time I was in Tartu I didn’t notice too many of those around." - Steve Lury (excerpt from Foreword)
